Is It the Pedal or the Wiring?

A useful first test is to swap the suspect pedal with a working pedal. Because each pedal mechanism connects through the same wiring loom, this can show whether the fault follows the pedal or remains with the wiring.

If the fault moves with the pedal…

This strongly suggests a problem with the pedal itself, with the potentiometer being a likely cause.

If the fault stays with the same wiring…

This points towards the wiring or connection rather than the potentiometer.

Common Logitech G29, G920 & G923 Pedal Problems

Pedal Input Flickers, Jitters or Spikes

Flickering or erratic input is often caused by a worn or contaminated potentiometer, although an intermittent wiring connection can behave similarly. If the potentiometer is confirmed, use the Potentiometer Upgrade Kit; otherwise, start with the Pedal Fault Finder.

Accelerator or Throttle Pedal Not Working Properly

Flickering, intermittent response, failure to reach full throttle or no input can be caused by the accelerator potentiometer, wiring or another part of the system. Use the Fault Finder to identify what to investigate.

Brake or Clutch Pedal Not Responding

Brake and clutch faults can share the same causes as accelerator problems. Check whether the fault follows the pedal or remains with the wiring before replacing a part.

Pedal Doesn’t Reach 100%

Check first that nothing restricts normal pedal travel. If the mechanism moves freely, investigate the potentiometer, wiring and calibration.

Pedal Works Intermittently or Has No Input

Do not overlook the wiring, particularly if the behaviour changes when the pedal cable or pedal set is moved. A dead pedal can also indicate a connector or wider system fault.
